DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 29 Days of Love – Day 13 “Philos Love”

Meditative Thought: Philos is the Latin word for the love connection to a friend.  It is the human condition of love, and it is the first stage of our connection to each other.  We must be willing to cultivate the Philos level of love because it is the fellowship that keeps us connected.  One of my personal mantras is, “Be the friend I want to have.”  If a friend stops calling, we must be willing to reach out.  When our friends are challenged, you might be the only light they see.  Are we willing to be that light?  Are you willing to become the friend that you desire?  Be the person that appreciates who your friends are, and what they bring to the planet.  Be the support, inspiration, and vibration that says, “I am your friend, and I got your back.”

Your Spiritual Assignment: Today, write a poem about your best friend.  What are their best attributes?  Write about their characteristics that make you want to be around them.  Then communicate your admiration to your friends.  Remember it is important to tell someone why you love him or her, but it is important to show him or her as well.  Think of ways you can show love, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.  Remember what you give away, is what you will receive.

Affirmations:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I give love, and I receive love.  My life is the life of God and there is nothing else.  I am Love, and share God’s Love living as me. I Love with enthusiasm and I rejoice with an energetic loving spirit.  And so it is.  Amen.
